Pentagon Updates Middle East Strategy

Changes reflect normalized relationships between Israel and Arab nations.

On Friday, the Defense Department announced that it would be reordering its policies and operations in the Middle East. These changes come in the wake of several peace deals brokered by President Trump’s administration between Israel and its Arab neighbors. Israel will now be managed by the head of U.S. Central Command, moving out of U.S. European Command. Central Command’s sphere of influence included the Middle East and Central Asia.

A statement from the Pentagon said, “Israel is a leading strategic partner for the United States, and this will open up additional opportunities for cooperation with our U.S. Central Command partners while maintaining strong cooperation between Israel and our European allies.” The statement indicated that the Defense Department anticipates a continuation of peaceful relationships between Israel and the Arab world.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would guide the Defense Department on how best to maintain global peace.
  • For U.S. officials to have discernment in forging and strengthening alliances in the Middle East.
  • That God would give the Secretary of Defense wisdom to lead the nation’s military.
